Photos

When you allow it, plate and nutrition-label photos, added menu or leftovers images, and selected food details go through Dayroom's server to Google Gemini for estimates or label reads. Dayroom's servers do not keep the photos. Dayroom temporarily saves the estimate result, which may include your food details, to recover interrupted requests. Results expire after 10 minutes and are removed by scheduled cleanup. Google may keep photos, prompts and responses for up to 55 days to check for abuse. Authorized Google staff may review flagged content. Under its paid API terms, Google does not use this content to improve its products; abuse logs may be used for policy-enforcement models. Accepted details, saved recipes and record thumbnails stay on this phone. Original photos are not kept for later estimates. Turn Photo estimates off in Settings to ask again before the next snap or label read. Adding plates by hand still works.

Typed estimates

Typing and local food searches stay on this phone. After you choose Estimate with AI and allow the request, the selected food name, quantity (g, ml or count), and any unit size go through Dayroom's server to Google Gemini. Dayroom temporarily saves the estimate result, which may include your food details, to recover interrupted requests. Results expire after 10 minutes and are removed by scheduled cleanup. On this phone

Your budget, saved plate history, corrections, saved foods, and the food list are stored on this phone. Details you submit for AI estimates are sent as described above. Record photos added by hand and barcode scans are not uploaded. There is no Dayroom account.

Usage events

Dayroom sends usage events to PostHog with a random id stored on this phone. Events include screens opened, estimate results and timing, estimated calories, calorie corrections, and subscription purchase results. They do not include photos, plate names, your weight, age, height, or budget. PostHog also receives your IP address. Its current US Cloud free plan retains analytics data for one year. These events are not used for ads.

AI access

Dayroom uses Apple App Attest to check this installation. Its server on Cloudflare receives an installation identifier, public key and signed proofs. The identifier, key, replay counter and free allowance expire 90 days after the last verified request. Short-lived challenges prevent a request from being reused. If the app owner approves personal access, the approved installation code is kept until access is revoked.

Purchases and limits

Apple handles payments. Dayroom sends signed subscription transactions to its server and checks their current status with Apple. Raw transactions are processed during the check, not saved in the server database. A hashed subscription identifier connects the paid AI allowance across your devices and renewals. Purchase identifiers and installation proofs are not sent to the AI provider. Quota counters expire within two UTC days. Deleting data on this phone does not reset these server limits or cancel an Apple subscription.

Interrupted estimates

Cloudflare stores a request fingerprint and estimate result so Dayroom can recover an interrupted request without running the estimate again. Results may contain food names, nutrition values and details you supplied. They expire after 10 minutes; scheduled cleanup removes expired records. Uploaded photos are not saved in this recovery storage.

Network requests

Cloudflare hosts the estimation service and this website. It processes IP addresses and request metadata to deliver requests and limit abuse. Dayroom uses IP-based request limits. The website has no analytics scripts, advertising or tracking cookies. Dayroom does not sell your data or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Apple Health

If you turn on Apple Health, Dayroom writes each logged plate as dietary energy and may read your latest weight to offer a budget update. That data stays between this phone and Apple Health. Deleting a plate removes that write.

Delete

Delete a plate from its screen or by swiping it in History. Settings → Delete everything wipes the on-device database, thumbnails, and the random analytics id. It does not erase previously sent analytics, server verification records or content already retained by the AI provider. Their retention periods still apply. You can contact support about access to or deletion of data; without an account, Dayroom may need more information to locate it.

Support emails

If you email support, your email address and the information you choose to send pass through Cloudflare Email Routing to our Gmail inbox. Correspondence stays in that inbox so we can respond and follow up. You can ask us to delete it. Please avoid sending health records or photos unless they are needed for your request.

Service providers

Service providers process data as described above. Processing may take place outside your country. Read Cloudflare's privacy policy, Gemini API terms and Google's abuse monitoring policy, Google's privacy policy for Gmail and PostHog's privacy policy. Apple handles purchases, installation verification and Apple Health under Apple's privacy policy.

Age and estimates

Dayroom is for people 18 or older. Estimates only. Not medical advice. Dayroom does not diagnose, treat, or give medical advice.
